If you need an emergency dentist in Ruislip, call Victoria Road Dental Clinic on 01895 636 121 as soon as possible. We will do our best to see all emergency patients on the same day whenever we can, and calling as early in the morning as possible will increase your chances of being seen today. Because dental emergencies can happen at any time of the day or night, we also provide advice on what to do for an out-of-hours emergency on the same number.
What constitutes a dental emergency?
There are many reasons you may need to see an emergency dentist. These range from sudden, unbearable toothache (with or without swelling or abscess) to broken or lost teeth; broken dentures to lost crowns.
Here is what the dentist at our Ruislip clinic will do in the case of common emergencies. Please note that in some cases you will need to come back for follow-up appointments to complete treatment. Getting you out of pain will always be our first priority. . .
Toothache
Pain is the body’s way of indicating something is wrong, and dental pain can be severe. Your dentist will establish the cause of the pain and will treat it appropriately. This often requires more than one visit to our Ruislip clinic, but at your first appointment we will get you out of pain.
Dental abscess or swelling
Swelling in the mouth is often an indication of infection, for which a course of antibiotics may be required.
Lost tooth
Ideally, lost teeth need to be reimplanted immediately, if you still have the tooth. Always pick it up by the crown (the part that shows in the mouth) and avoid touching the root. Place the tooth in milk or between your cheek and teeth until you can be seen. If it can’t be reimplanted, your dentist may provide a tooth replacement such as dental bridge.
