It is common that patients suffer from anxiety when planning a dental visit to differing levels. Dental anxiety is slight in some, whereas for others they are totally afraid and frightened. In the latter example, these individuals are so worried and dental phobic that they avoid the dentist at all costs.
Their phobias are so severe that they will only visit when suffering from acute dental pain, in many of these instances the pain could have been avoided or prevented with an earlier visit. More often or not minor problems tend to develop into serious cases requiring extensive treatment.
At the Victoria Road Dental Clinic, we understand how worried people can be when it comes to dental treatment. We are especially sympathetic about these fears and will work closely with you to reduce your fears and anxiety. We will go the extra mile to put you at your ease. We will discuss all aspects of your upcoming procedure in advance so that you know what to expect and, if you are especially nervous, offer you sedation. If you suffer from dental anxiety, please do not hesitate to tell us as we are committed to your comfort as well as dental well-being, and we will do everything necessary to make your visit a positive one.
Positive reinforcement by our dental team
The Victoria Road Dental Clinic will make your child relaxed and confident enough to successfully complete each examination and treatment session. We encourage regular check ups for children to make sure they never become ‘dental phobic’.
